the main switches are Clare Pendar S820 (right); there is also a Clare Pendar S832 (left) under the UPPER\nCASE\nALPHA key which is presumably latching (it just gets stuck in the down position)

i want to open the switches but they are sealed shut real good

this keyboard has a strange secretarial shift (or half of it? right shift not connected) implementation

the metal stick is pushed up (horizontally) by the slope of the inside of the keycap as it depresses; you can see the mark on the inside of the keycap in this photo

Come on, you can't post porn without telling us what it feels like. Mushy, tactile, linear?

I’ve a little experience of Clare Pendar mammoths. They’re linear. Magnetic reed so no contacts to push at actuation, a bit like Micro Switch Hall effect. Should be real smooth, though tend to be nowhere near so compared to the legendary Micro Switch.

The wiki page for S820: the main switches in this board.

The single latching S830 may be the first sighting of one of those on a keyboard.

Forgive my lack of manners
Travel distance feels pretty long (i like), bottom out nice and solid but not so "clacky". Sound is nice but since it is mag reed there is a faint squeak from the contacts opening/closing.
Unfortunately they are pretty dusty and therefore bindy and i am not sure it is possible to safely open them :( (I already tried cutting open the base with exacto knife but cut my finger on the first switch)

I love when Clare Pendar pops up. The switches feel kinda terrible, but they look so cool!
