The function row should be completely blue or aranged differently.
I would make three 4x4 clusters [gray, blue, gray] and remap the keys so that you have F1-F4 in the first block, F5-F8 in the second and so on.
Apart from that it looks quite cool

Function rows seem superfluous to me. But how about combining one with a numpad (also unnecessary) in a creative fashion? 12 function keys = 12 hours on a clock.ne0phyte wrote:The function row should be completely blue or aranged differently.

Picture a numpad right in the middle instead! Everything looks good in wood. (5.25" diskette optional.)

Thanks guy
i thought of remapping the cluster fn keys indeed
but i like that subtle symetry. Not everything is squared in this world ...
And it's not wood it's plastic painted with luv (and paint).

I also thought it is wood and you posted it this way to show how it looks underneath.
If you would paint it all in grey, people would ask what kind of keyboard it is and which switches it has and if it is from the 1970s and how you made it work with a modern computer.

I does have a bit of an IBM 029 vibe, doesn't it? Especially with bepo vomiting punctuation everywhere.7bit wrote:If you would paint it all in grey, people would ask what kind of keyboard it is and which switches it has and if it is from the 1970s and how you made it work with a modern computer.
I don't know whether the next group buy should have EBCDIC keycaps for Cherry switches, or ASCII keycaps for beam springs.

Wow, they copied my design, but did it wrong with the alpha keys.kps wrote:...

I would love to sell it to myself, but I don't think the owners of that particular machine would agree. It's probably easier for you to ask them directly. http://computermuseum.informatik.uni-st ... bm029.html7bit wrote:Let me know if you want to sell it ...

Joe aside does it does really look like wood?
It's two layer of grey, one of antique gold then sanded and 4 layers of mate varnish.
Damn i could have said like haata or beardsmore.7bit wrote:If you would paint it all in grey, people would ask what kind of keyboard it is and which switches it has and if it is from the 1970s and how you made it work with a modern computer.

What is "wrong" is that U, I, R and S keys are not in their correct positions for "Bépo" layout.Gilgam wrote:Ok just a guess
Also, the Ê and È keys don't look like they are completely seated.
I like how you populated this keyboard with no extra gaps between keys. Love white-on-blue modifiers!
