Swapping springs in Gateron Browns

I Like my MX clears but the 'dox I bought has gateron browns. Is it unwise to swap out the springs on installed switches?

Depends if it has a plate that is designed for switch top removal or not. If the holes aren't perfectly square then it's probably compatible, but if it doesn't then it's not.
Pretty much all of the Ergodox cases/plates I have seen support switch top removal, if the holes look like this then it's suppported:

I don't think there's any other problem with swapping out springs, I have done it a number of times when modding my keyboards and as long as your careful to not bend the contacts then you'll be fine.

so I tried it out on a few switches by using a plastic spudger to pry off the top of the switch case. easy peasy
