Yesterday, I de-soldered all the misc electronics from the PCB, other than the diodes, and started trying to do some wiring. That was a little unpleasant, primarily because my wire stock is rather poor, and secondarily because some of the solder pads came off when I just touched them and I had to repair those. I have some new wire on order and I'll try to get to this again either sometime this week or sometime this weekend.
