Re: Blue ALPS stock lube question

Luckily not all the switches have oil in them only about 4. And those 4 have so much oil inside them that the click leaves cannot move to click at all.

I will start speaking to the seller also We will see what he has to say.

Blue ALPS stock lube question

So today I finally my Leading Edge DC-2014 got delivered. When disassembling I noticed there was an oily liquid inside the keyboard case. Upon further inspection some of the switches have so much lube oozing out of the switches and just wanted to ask is that normal in the factory production. Below a...

It has a rod stabiliser it should just pull out. Are you pulling all your caps using a keycap puller?

I don't believe this will affect the price of the original SSK in any way.
No it won't because at the end of the day hardcore collectors will want the original SSK's just for originality purposes.

Re: IBM Model F key gets a bit stuck

I have had Model F flippers break exactly like that. it is mostly on UK made Model F's in my experience. Yes it is an annoying mistake to make. Mine broke when I wanted to swap the springs out as some keys were feeling soft as if something had been pressing on the keys for years. But did not want to...

Re: Thickness of foam for Model F XT

I would honestly just go on eBay and buy some standard neoprene foam at a size of 3mm. As it will make the assembly tighter. Also another reason to go with standard neoprene is to avoid the possibility of the foam in the assembly degrading again.

Hope that helps.

Re: IBM Model F AT Space-bar mod

Well ultimately you would have to separate the barrel plate and back plate. In terms of "hack job" if you are referring to the method with drilling holes in the spacebar stabiliser posts to reattach the stabiliser bar. Then the answer is no you don't have to do a hack job. But you do for sure have t...

Can anyone proxy me some Unicomp stuff?

Hi I use an IBM Model F AT as my daily driver absolutely loving it. But would really like to spice my keyboard up a bit with some different coloured keycaps e.g. for the ESC, WASD. To do this I was going to buy some Unicomp caps but as I live in the UK shipping would be a killer as I have recently f...
