The Atari XT keyboard was for Atari's PC line up that was their first IBM PC compatible. The PC1 was the first entry computer made by Atari, and was later replaced by the PC2 in the same year. Both the PC1 and PC2 used the same 83 key keyboard.
OEM
This Atari PC1 8008 was manufactured for Atari by Hi-Tek Corporation. This keyboard is unique to the Atari PC lineup, and it only works over the XT protocol even though the layout of the keyboard is AT.
The keyboard also seems to have a weird clock issue with certain converters and it might take multiple times to be plugged in for the keyboard to be recognized.
Switches
The keyboard uses white, one eye linear switches from the Hi-Tek Series 725.
Keycaps
The keycaps are made of PBT and the legends are dye sublimated. The keys are sculpted, i.e. each row has its own profile. These keycaps are unique as well to this board as they are lighter than the normal NMB AT keyboard keycaps. The best color that describes them is ivory compared to beige.
