The Phantom is a do-it-yourself keyboard kit.

The keyboard was designed by bpiphany (formely "PrinsValium") following the original idea of HaveANiceDay.

The keyboard is a tenkeyless using plate-mounted Cherry MX switches and is intended to fit inside a Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless case (or compatible case). Bpiphany owns the copyright, but it says on the PCB "All rights reserved, but just ask I won't charge anything".

Different plates were made for different layouts, all of which were supported by different traces on the same PCB. The PCB had no components of its own. The controller is a Teensy 2.0, mounted under the main PCB, between the rows for function and numeric keys. Unfortunately, not all third party cases that can hold the innards of a Filco has enough space for the controller.

The original group order was conducted during 2012, with the help of several members on the Deskthority forum and on Geekhack, including e.g. 7bit and litster. The original order provided of PCB, aluminium plates, Cherry MX switches, diodes, controllers and stabilisers. A few group orders for specific parts have been (are) organised afterwards.

Please read the Phantom instruction guides to know what to do with all those parts that could be ordered in the Phantom Group Buy.
